How Does Grow Therapy Work?

The Grow Therapy website is intuitive and can be accessed through any web browser on your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Here’s how you can set up your first appointment.

Find a licensed therapist that fits your requirements

On Grow Therapy’s homepage, click on “Find a therapist” to begin the matching process. From here, choose between “Virtual care” and “In-person care” at the top of the page. You’ll then need to use the dropdown functionality to select your:

  • State
  • Insurance provider (if you don’t have one, pick “Cash”)
  • Specialty needs—e.g. depression, personality disorders, career counseling, etc. (Not required to select a specialty)

The “Search” tool will take you straight to a list of licensed therapists that match your criteria. In addition to therapists, this could include social workers, career counselors, and other licensed mental health professionals.

You can further refine this list by filtering for gender, age, ethnicity, talk therapy vs. medication management, and availability.

For each therapist on the list, you’ll be able to see the following information:

  • Name
  • Photo
  • Qualifications
  • Years of experience
  • Date of next availability
  • If they offer virtual or in-person services, their therapy styles, and more
  • A short description of their background and specialties

You can click “View profile” to continue reading more about their background, treatment methods and tools, specialties, and availability.

Sign up for your first session in minutes

Once you’ve decided on a licensed provider or therapist, you’re ready to book your first session.

Select your preferred time and date slot. Then click on “Book my slot”.

You’ll have to fill out some information to book—including your personal details, insurance provider and membership number (if applicable), and billing information (used only if you have a copay or to charge a no show fee). Grow Therapy will conduct an eligibility check to verify that your provider accepts your insurance plan.

The final step is to review and accept Grow Therapy’s terms and conditions and hit “Book now”.

Sessions and support

Both virtual and in-person sessions can last 30, 45, or 60minutes, and you can easily book another follow up session following your initial intake. You can also contact your therapist after the session by messaging them in the client portal. If you need to, you can cancel appointments up to 24 hours before without an additional fee.

Grow Therapy provides plenty of resources to help you find the right therapist. Plus, it has a matching team via phone (786-244-7711) or email ( that can help you make the right selection. If you’re unhappy with your therapist, you can rebook with a different therapist until you’re comfortable with your choice. The support team can help you rematch with a better fit.
